Sisal
The leaf fibre of the plant Agave Sislana which is grown in Brazil and East Africa. It can be woven into an extraordinary range of styles and patterns which can be dyed from deep bronze to pale silver. Sisal fibres are naturally strong making highly resilient durable floorcoverings, ideal for stairs and hallways.

Paper
Woven from spun paper, made from the pulp of coniferous softwoods, the yarn is very strong and has resin added during the spinning process to increase the moisture resistance of the fibre, working well in high moisture areas. It can be dyed and hold colour well without fading. The Papa collection is woven from 100% twisted paper yarn or from a combination of 45% paper and 55% sisal.

Jute
A labour intensive, largely hand-crafted process follows the harvesting of the Genus Cochorous plant which is grown in Asia and from which Jute is derived. The result is a finer natural fibre with a silky soft lustre best suited to areas of the house such as sitting rooms and bedrooms rather than heavily used areas such as halls.

Seagrass
Grown in China in paddy fields which are flooded with sea water this product is the most popular, practical and widely used in the Crucial Trading range. Natural Seagrass has a slightly waxy texture making it resistant to dirt. Difficult to dye the product comes in its original state and has natural inconsistencies in colour which add to the overall charm and effect. In the herringbone design there is an introduction of a colour sisal weft.

Coir
Coir comes from the fibres of the coconut husk that can be removed either by hand or machine. Crucial Trading only use hand removed fibres which produce a higher quality product. Depending on the weaving process the finished effect can be either tight and uniform or loose and variable with tones from natural coconut to creamier bleached shades.

Wool
Natural tones and natural weaves create a remarkable variety of effects suitable for any interior. The only Crucial Trading Range which originate from animals rather than plants, some are combined with Sisal or Jute for additional texture.

Crucial Trading rugs are a practical, versatile and extremely adaptable form of floorcovering, cut and finished to the customers specifications.
