Cork is the bark of the cork oak, a natural product which is harvested without cutting down the tree. It is a renewable and sustainable resource which meets todays demands for care and conservation. In commercial cork oak plantations, the first cork bark is taken when the trees are 25 years old. The tree is completely unharmed and regrows its cork surface, which can be harvested every 9 years.
